Clueless Judgment

They have no idea…
Of how dark my road has been,
Of how dark it still is,
How dark I think it will be.
They have no idea…
Of how deserted the road has been for me,
Of how I had to feign strength,
because I had to face the night alone.
They have no idea…
Of the sighs, of the hopeless prayers at night.
They know nothing of my reasons for silence,
Nor the excuses for my excessive laughter.
They have no idea…
Of how the darkness almost swallowed me up,
Of how I had to steel-proof my heart,
Because I was left to fight alone.

Seek The Lord

“Behold, the days are coming,” declares the Lord GOD, “when I will send a famine on the land- not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD.” (Amos 8:11)

The Jews have kept the form of religion while totally disregarding the real essence of it–the fear of God. They went on with the rituals of burnt offerings and peace sacrifices. But they esteemed not the name of the LORD. They blaspheme Him with their pretenses and hypocrisy and double standards. They seek not the Lord.

We gentiles are no better off. We too have forsaken the Lord. And the call goes the same for us: “seek the Lord and live” (Amos 5:6). Seek Him, while He may yet be found. For, the warning resounds, time will come when people would thirst for the Lord and for His word, but they will not find Him. Seek Him while He may yet be found. Time is running out.

May everyone seek You. May /I/ seek You, with all my heart. Hide not your face from me, from the people around me. May every heart be found to be trembling in fear and humility before You. May You enter and dwell in every trembling heart.
