God’s Great Power

All the inhabitants of the earth are accounted as nothing, and he does according to his will among the host of heaven and among the inhabitants of the earth; and none can stay his hand or say to him, “What have you done?” (Daniel 4:35)

The great Nebuchadnezzar has been humbled by the Lord. He was highly exalted in his might and in his glorious kingdom, but when his heart was lifted up, the Lord crushed him down. He does everything according to His will. And no one can stop Him, or even question Him. He is God. He does as He pleases. And in all the He does, He is glorified.

Your glory is overwhelming, Lord. You are too great to behold, too mighty to comprehend. And yet You chose to reveal yourself to me, and to save me from my folly. I cannot speak. Such a picture, as David puts it, is too wonderful for me. I cannot understand it. Thank you for your amazing grace.

And this, Lord, is my petition: let me do all things according to Your will. Abide with me and let me never go astray from the path You have laid before me. Hear Thy servant, Lord. I want to obey You in every aspect of my life. Pray, enable me.
