Like a leaf that the
autumn wind drives away
Like a flower that
on its tree refused to stay,
So he left her completely,
with nothing but mem’ries
of yesterday.
Like the warm breeze
‘midst a cold, cold evening,
like a whisper lost
among the echoes,
so he went away
and was gone,
leaving her hanging,
He whispered silently
his goodbye
and walked, slowly,
down the path.
His fading figure
was the lingering
smoke in the chimney,
the reminder of the warmth
that once was there.
It was the trail of the ship
that sailed away.
He was one leaf,
gone with the wind.
