Tug of War

Two contrasting sides.
Two opposing forces.
They kept tugging.
Both wishing to gain
dominance over the other.
And I am torn,
rendered helpless,
in between.

All or Nothing

Do not expect to receive the Crown of glory in heaven
after you have rejected and set aside
the Cross of Christ here on earth.
One cannot obtain treasures in the kingdom of God
when all he gave for the same throne room
is a scrap of his earthly life,
or nothing at all.

Where no tear can dim the eye

A place where no tear can dim the eye…
Oh, when shall I finally reach this place?
When, I ask, can I see my Savior’s face?
A place where no tear can dim the eye–
That is the heavens up high.

When, oh when, shall I finally be free
From the sin that binds me helplessly?
When, God, shall I reach thy place on high
Where no tear can dim the eye?

Beyond Repair (12.18.14)

There is a kind of heart break
That is more painful
Than ended romance.

Few tales have been
written about it,
Yet it has a graver story to tell.

Poems and rhymes depicting it
Are quite unheard of,
But it tells of deeper langour
Than any sad poem there is.

It isn’t romance forgotten,
Nor unrequitted,
For such things are commonplace;
One has to get used to it.

But damaged friendship–
That is a thing too much to bear.
For, since such things ought to last,
Their ruin is almost always beyond repair.

And right now, I perceive a heart,
Breaking, shattering to a thousand pieces,
Never to be the same ever again.
Right now, that suffering heart is mine.

Waiting For The Music (12.7.14)

I await for your shadow
to darken my doorsteps.

I await to hear your voice,
which surely is music to my ears.

I await for that instance
when we’d be spending time together.

I await for your stringed instrument
to infiltrate my tedious life.

“But A Dream” (11.30.14)

In the darkest of nights
I saw you from my window sill.
I could hear your voice so vibrant,
I could see your eyes so clear.

I see the world around us,
Remembering things distinctly.
At that stand-still moment, my dreams
Suddenly turned to reality.

Our world that night was perfect–
The trees glitter, the rivers shine,
The air is full of love and laughter,
And the best part is that you were mine.

I knew, from each other, we live far away,
But there we were no longer miles apart.
We walk together, you holding my hand
And capturing my very heart.

It was a perfect world with a perfect scene,
My sheer joy, no clouds could ever dim.
But it shattered, all that we could’ve been,
For I awoke, and ’twas all but a dream.
